The beach side suburb of Broadbeach has grown to rival Surfers Paradise as the most popular tourist destination on the Gold Coast. Broadbeach has become the capital of shopping on the Gold Coast with the Pacific Plaza shopping center in its midst and also having the Nikon Plaza center as well as the Broadbeach local shopping center. There is a fantastic tourist plaza where alfresco restaurants and cafes line a parkland that stretches almost from the beach to the gold Coast highway and the mono rail train has stops at the casino and the Nikon Plaza shopping center. This makes it very easy to visit other places on the Gold Coast. The beach is the largest day time tourist attraction with kilometers of beautiful white sand and a consistent surf. It is always busy with surfers and sunbakers. There is a beautiful park runs right along the beachfront which is great for families as there are lots of places for the kids to play. The Southport Broadwater to the north of Broadbeach provides holidaymakers in the region with an aquatic playground. here you can hire a boat or join a cruise. Whale watching trips, fishing charters and canal cruises are all popular.

Broadbeach has lots of holiday accommodation. There is so much to choose from you will probably need some advice from someone who knows it all. The beachfront is the most popular location to stay and these resorts all have beautiful sea views. There are specialist resorts in the area for families who want to bring their kids to the Gold Coast for a holiday. Shuttle Bus services are available from these resorts to go to the theme parks and the kids will never forgive you if you go on a Gold Coast holiday and you don't take them to either Dreamworld, Movieworld or Seaworld. Seaworld is located on the Southport Spit and is the nearest one to Broadbeach. South of Broadbeach is the Currumbin bird sanctuary and wildlife park and this is another great attraction to entertain your children. Close by in Surfers Paradise, there are many other attractions and places like Ripleys, Believe it or not are wonderful for the kids. If you come to the Gold Coast for the V8 supercar races, Broadbeach accommodation is close enough to walk to the track, but far enough away that the noise is not a problem.
